The first screen is the one that will be entered when the Venapp is first started and thus contains a number of commands to load the model, graph file, toolset and so on.  The model is loaded as a .vmf file.   If you are going to use the READRUNCHG command (as this application does), you should use .vmf files so that closing the Venapp and returning to it later will not prevent the use of old runs.

The screen loads a .vgd file.  In the development of models, it is often simplest to use the default graph set associated with a model.  When developing Venapps, however, it is good practice to save these graph sets as separate files.  This will facilitate packaging of your Venapp as a standalone application, and will also prevent problems that might arise if a model was set to use a graph set other than its default graph set.  The loading of the toolset is done primarily to prevent problems that might occur if some other toolset had been in use.  The toolset world.vts is simply a copy of default2.vts.

The run base has been loaded alone.  This is not really necessary for this application, but is often helpful if you want people to have a baseline run for comparison.  Warnings are turned off to prevent Lookup overrun messages from being displayed.

The text provides Copyright and other information.  The ANYKEY control allows the user to close this screen by pressing any key.
